I'm done.

It seems it is at that critical part in a party where I, as a guest, analyze the drunken situation.

As there are many stages of drunkeness, I have witnessed most of them by this point in the term.

I have also comented more frequently than most on my findings and/or opinions, therefore, I feel my cameo at this party was adequate.

But now, ladies and gents, we have surpassed the 'loosening up,' stage, moved beyond the 'comfortable' phase, far past the 'let's get a little risky,' stage, just yonder of the 'emotional' stage, and have landed at that point where the boys start that game we women are all aware of. ...

You know the game, and at parties I've attended, I've learned that once they start, its usually time to leave.

 The game has simple rules:

" I hit you, and we'll see if you can hit me harder."

Geared toward both the stroking of masculine ego, and for the pure showmanship and entertainment in scene that seems to be cooling for the night, this game tends to be the sign of the evening winding down.

Now, the premise is that its all in fun, but as alcohol (or political ideology) and testosterone are involved, anger is inevitable.

And while all the spectators can politely coo "Boys, boys. Now now, let's be mature about this," I am gathering my things and heading for the door.  At this point, everyone has become far too serious, and has obviously forgotten to laugh, which is my favorite thing to do at these sorts of gatherings.

And so, as I stand on the porch, putting out my last cigarette, and checking my watch- I see that the hour is up, and the party is in fact, over.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm getting the hell out of here.

   Good night and good luck.

 Ciao

In Response to Dr. Clive Thomas

 Political Commentators as Talking Heads...

Personally, I feel that if these 'talking heads' were to so objectively report the news, they wouldn't serve any purpose whatsoever.

I feel that in this country, we have a lack of involvement. But what involvement we do have in politics, is in part, due to the strong emotons these commentators strike in us with their biased opinions.

Take that passion away, no matter the party ideology, and you've got a boring listen/read/watch, etc. And our entertainment and emotionally based audience will turn it off, thus creating an even more un-informed culture.

But that's just how I feel.

Blog Drama

I'm still giggling over it.

You guys are worse than high school girls.

And I think if you are going to completely caps a word to make a point, you should spell it correctly.  Otherwise, you're emphasizing your own illiteracy, which is sad. We need more literate conservatives.

common misconceptions...

Thanks to the Media, I've noticed people getting seriously confused lately about what our two most opposting political parties truly stand for.

As I position myself in public places and eavesdrop, (as I do quite often) all I hear are people bitching about other political parties.( ok, I only hear this in tightass coffee shops that are usually located next to some sort of college campus, and usually, its right after a poli sci class gets out, or in a lounge that has the balls to put on either CNN or Fox with the idea that someone in a lounge at 2 pm actually gives a shit. Except me because I'm fucking awesome. But that's a whole 'nother post.)  It seems that in all their haste to automatically bitch about something the other side did, they don't even do their homework and find out if what the 'other side' did is even true.

I've compiled a list of things that most Democrats think about Republicans:

   1. Republicans condone child abuse.

    WRONG.

Republicans believe in  Beating your children.

There is a definite difference. While child abuse includes locking children in closets, molesting them, traumatizing them psychologically for life, conservatives merely believe in keeping snot-nosed, ungrateful, bratty little shits in their place.

If there is no reason for a beating, no beating shall occur.

 2. Republicans are afraid of Queers.

 WRONG.

  Republicans Hate Gays.

Again, definite difference.  They are not afraid of queers, as many senators and congressmen who have come out against gay rights have actually been gay themselves. They obviously are not frightened at all of gays, however, because they hate themselves for being hypocritical asshats, they confuse it with hatred for the gay community.

3. Republicans are Pro-Life.

 WRONG.

Republicans are Anti-whore, Pro-killing babies.

4. Republicans are Pro-War.

      ......CORRECT.

Things that Republicans think about Democrats:

1.  Democrats have a bleeding heart.

    WRONG.

Since most liberals are gay, they most likely either have a bleeding ass, or no loss of blood whatsoever.

2. Democrats are Anti-War.

     WRONG .

Democrats are Pro-Bitching.  Just as a recently discovered starved six year old that's been sitting in a closet for three days would maul a Happy Meal, democrats look at war as the prime rib of a bitch fest.

 3. Democrats are Eco-Friendly.

    Sure.

If you associate being "eco-friendly" with driving a gas guzzling SUV around South Central LA, or NYC.  I'm no urbanite, but I never really associated Rod'eo drive with the need for four-wheel drive.  Or drinking designer coffee from styrofoam cups at Earthday Parades, while the streets are littered with flyers for the event that took about 200 trees to provide the paper for it. But it was recycled, so its ok. And plus, the last time they spent about $800 on a pre-aged pair of jeans at the GAP, they rounded their sale up to the next dollar and donated it to the ' Save The Something Endangered,' Foundation, so like, they're totally entitled.

4. Democrats dress better than Republicans.

   CORRECT.

Because I'm perfect, I am qualified to clarify these common misconceptions for you.

introspection

This is not funny. Nor will I attempt to make it so.

With all that has gone on lately, I will admit that death had weighed in heavily on my mind lately.

We speak of how the media sensationalizes things to pull at us. Of how they make a spectacle of things so small, of slight jumps in crime, in mere meddlings that would be portrayed as the world afire.

However, we have yet to touch on how media can minimize the most important events, such as creation, and more to the point, death.

I view death tolls as mere numbers on colorful pie graphs and bar graphs, all made to be aesthetically appealing and official looking. Primary colors offset one another to create a colorful work of unimportant cartooning to portray something so contrary to that which represents it.

With it being such an enormous part of the stories that house the news values we've all come to know and spot, for something so absolute as the end of life, it is reported daily, thousands, millions of times as if it is just another event.  Death just becomes numbers instead of names and memories. And with every chart representing a death toll, it is just sad to me that individualism and memory and so many other things that were housed in each and every one of those numbers, has been so trivially placed into a colorful representation of the end of life.

Perhaps with death being such a normal part of reporting here, we separate ourselves from it. But do we do so with numb ears? Do we do so as a form of denial of our own mortality, which we are reminded of every day? Do we do so because we are not seeing it, as the media censors the most gruesome of pictures, and again, represents this with instead pictures of flowery memorials, candle light vigils, and the occasional teary eyed patron....?

Do we do it at all or does the media do it for us?

I am weighing in on myself here now.    With all the media focus on disastrous, (or seemingly so) events, and the amount of death I am subjected to every day, does it serve my fear of death?  I am terrified of it.    There was a time when I wanted nothing more than to experience it, and yet now, I cannot escape the fear that it will come for me.

Does the media feed my fear of it? Or, is it in a way, contributing to the diminishing of it by overwhelming me with the fact?   How about us as an American culture? Do we overall fear death, welcome it, or simply accept it?

In Italy, when someone dies, the family plasters the town with flyers with the person's picture and a bit about them, stating they have died.
One who does not read Italian and would visit an Italian town might easily mistake these hundreds of posters as "missng" posters...and in essence, that is what they are. For I am sure that whoever posted them is indeed missing them very, very much.

 .... just some thoughts.

Soon we will be a generation

capable of only saying 'ok,' and writing checks.

I strive to be a part of the last

who stand for what they believe,

 know what they believe,

  love what they believe,

 or just stand to stand,

to stand in the way,

 to stand out,

 to stand instead of sit,

 to walk instead of stand,

 to go instead of stay,

 to scream instead of say,

in quiet rooms, in loud halls

in  blogs or media of our time,

  in text, in meaning

I plan on being the last generation,

the ones whose ideals will fade

like a polaroid,

 and when our ideas are

uncovered in a shoe box years later

they are yellowed and tainted,

but the idea is still there,

though the subject is long gone.

I'm tired of reading THIS shit.

I've gotten more accurate governmental and political information from the fucking AutoTrader.

I'm just mad at everyone right now.

Probably because I did shitty on my midterm.

If CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News were people, I'd embrace their genocide.

I'm serious man.   I thought I'd give it a shot, but within fifteen minutes of turning it on, they had already digressed into the Anna Nicole bullshit that I am so sick of hearing about.

In fact, its completely disheartening that lately all cable news makes me want to either stick a gun in my mouth, or wish I were born five years later so I could be a victim of their mass crisis "childhood obesity," which apparently is affecting kids mostly in the 5 yr-18 yr. slot.   Apparently these poor slobs won't have to worry about being fatasses much longer as the stats presented by CNN say they are slated for serious heart and health problems due to their obese youth.    Lucky bastards, they won't live to see the ill fate of cable news and America's media, it seems.

Fox news isn't much better lately, either.   While I give them props for being fucking bold, letting Ann Coulter run her mouth (which I categorize as 'infotainment') they still lower themselves bullshit on the Trump/O'Donnell level.

Fox news also has another strike against them, as they dedicate a large slot of their time to the genius who wrote this book.

Still, as the media is now considered an institution, though I find myself shaking my head at the list of useless bullshit that scrolls at the bottom of the screen, avoiding a seizure from the flashing lights, contrasting primary colors, and reminders of patriotism with flags flying in the corner of the screen.... I am still watching this crap.

So I guess the question is, who should really report the news if even the 'pros' are fucking it up?

 Fucking pirates. That's who.

If my morning report consisted of 'arrrgh,' I think I'd feel a lot better about the world I live in.

I'm drunk, and this may disappear tomorrow.
